Judy Cooper

Fifth Grade

Judy Cooper is in her 24th year of teaching at USJ, with this being her fifth year in fifth grade.

She has a Bachelor of Science in home economics and an elementary endorsement from University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Mrs. Cooper says, "My philosophy is that each and every child is an individual with something to contribute to our world. I want students to want to come to school and to have a desire to learn everything they are capable of learning."

Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Her children, Erik Fares and Elizabeth Fares O'Brien, are USJ graduates. Erik and his wife, Kristin, have three children, Madeline Grace, David, and Charlotte. Elizabeth and her husband, Bart (an Old Hickory graduate), are the parents of Catherine Elizabeth.

About USJ Mrs. Cooper says, "I love the children and enjoy the team effort of educating children with the student, parent, teacher, and administration all working together."
