Upper School Spanish
Jimmy Glosson is in his 13th year at USJ teaching Spanish. He teaches Spanish I, Honors Spanish III, and AP Spanish Language.
He has a bachelor of arts in Spanish from the University of Memphis and a masters in education in Spanish and Instruction and Curriculum from Union University. His professional associations include TFLTA and AATSP.
As a teacher, Mr. Glosson feels that with a “strong communicative and direct method of instruction,” he can “instill a passion for learning and speaking Spanish.”
He spends his free time playing basketball, reading, singing, watching movies, and acting. He also serves as assistant director on USJ Upper School musicals, is a member of the Jackson Theater Guild, and is involved in music ministry at Englewood Baptist Church. Mr. Glosson also coordiates and directs the Costa Rica Study Abroad Program, which will be making its 9th trip to Costa Rica in 2010.
Since he and his wife, Julie, both teach Spanish, they speak English and Spanish to their two children at home. Mr. Glosson enjoys being part of the “USJ Family” and all of the support he receives.
