Chris Leonardi
Middle School and Upper School French
Chris Leonardi has been with USJ for 13 years, teaching French and coaching varsity boys and girls soccer. This year, he is teaching sixth, seventh, eighth, 10th, and 11th grade French. He has a bachelor of science degree from Lambuth University.
As a teacher, his goal is to expose his students to a new culture and to “educate the children about their surroundings in the world, specifically the French speaking world.”
For several years, he has led a group of students and parents to French-speaking Quebec, Canada, over winter break.
Mr. Leonardi moved to Jackson from France when he was just sixteen years old. Back home, he has two younger brothers and one younger sister.
Before attending Lambuth University, Mr. Leonardi was a kicker for North Side High School his senior year. Besides soccer, he is a Tennessee Titans fan and enjoys NASCAR. He and his wife, Leigh Ann, married in November 2005.
He likes teaching at USJ, he says. "I like the support you get from everyone in academics and athletics. People really care about how you are doing in the classroom or on the field."
