Mickey Marley
American Government, Head Football Coach
Mickey Marley is in his 20th season as USJ's head football coach. He returns to the classroom this year to again teach American Government.
Mickey has a bachelor of science degree in communications (TV broadcasting) from the University of Tennessee at Martin and is certified in social studies and physical education. He is a member of the Tennessee Coaches Association and Tennessee Football Coaches Association.
He began his career at USJ 23 years ago as Dean of Students. He was athletic director for nine years and is now athletic coordinator.
His teaching philosophy is simple. He expects students to "be on time, act right, do right, and always do your best."
Mickey and his wife, Lisa, who teaches second grade at USJ, have two daughters, Kristen, who is 23, and Jordan, 15, who attends USJ.
"I am proud to say I have coached every football player who has ever played at USJ," he says. "I take great pride in all who have played. I thank them for their loyalty, passion, and commitment."
