Anna McPeake

Middle School Art

Anna McPeake teaches art in the Middle School and Upper School. Besides general art classes in the Middle School, her Upper School classes are Studio Art, Exploratory Art, and International Art. She also teaches a weekly art class to Middle School students after school.

Mrs. McPeake has a bachelor of science from Lambuth University and a masters in education from Union University. She has been at USJ for 10 of her 14 years in education. Before joining USJ, she taught two years in elementary schools and two years in high schools in Crockett and Madison counties.

"I introduce students to a variety of artists and styles from different periods," McPeake says. "Students experiment using different methods and techniques in order to find a style that appeals to them. I try to encourage students to develop their talent and creativity and become life-long lovers of art."

Outside of the classroom, she enjoys painting, working with stained glass, going to movies and plays, and reading. Her husband's name is Kinny. She studied painting for a summer in Aix-en-Provence, France. She likes teaching at USJ because of the positive, supportive environment.
