Laura Moore

Fourth Grade

Laura Moore has been an educator for 10 years. She is in her fifth year of teaching fourth grade at USJ and taught second grade for six years.

Mrs. Moore has a bachelor of arts in elementary education from the University of Mississippi. She is a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher’s Sorority.

She says, “My wish is that my students think deeply, speak kindly, laugh and work hard.”  She also hopes that her students will see their classroom as a fun place where they can be challenged and develop their own personalities.

Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, Baker, have two children. Walker is in kindergarten at USJ, and Amelia is two. The family recently moved to Jackson from Brownsville.

Laura enjoys teaching at USJ because of the “closeness of the faculty and the parental involvement. I also think that the uniforms have enhanced the educational environment."
