Elizabeth Orr

First Grade

Elizabeth Orr has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Union University and a Masters of Education degree from the University of Memphis. She has five years experience as an elementary teacher in the Jackson-Madison County School system where she taught second and third grade. This is her third year at USJ and her second year to be a first grade teacher. Before that, she was very active in the Mothers' Club serving as president and Holiday Mart chairman.

“I believe that every child has the ability to excel and achieve in the classroom," Mrs. Orr says. "I want my class to be a place where children have fun while they are learning and where they grow academically, emotionally, and socially.”

Outside of school, Mrs. Orr loves spending time with her family, watching old movies, traveling, reading, and being active at her church. She and her husband, Greg, have two children: Abbey is a recent graduate of USJ and is currently a freshman at Union University, and Austin is a sophomore at USJ.
