Scott Phillipps

Upper School Director

Dr. Scott Phillipps joins USJ this year as Upper School Director.

Scott has a bachelor of arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, a master’s degree from Georgia State University, and a doctor of education degree from the University of West Georgia.

Most of his career has been at the Walker School, an independent PreK through 12th grade school in Atlanta, with about 1,100 students. Scott has served at the Walker School as academic dean, dean of students, college advisor, history teacher, and coach of wrestling, football, cross country, and tennis.

Scott and his wife, Shelly, have three children: Brooke, who is in second grade at USJ; Braden, who is in kindergarten at USJ; and David, who is one year old. Shelly, a Latin teacher, was named Teacher of the Year for her school system in Georgia.
