Leslie Scott
Kindergarten
Leslie Scott, a kindergarten teacher, has a bachelor of science in early chilhood education from the University of North Alabama and a master's in education from Union University. She is a member of the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
When discussing her philosophy of teaching, she likes to quote Lee Iacocca when he said, “In a completely rational society, the best of us would aspire to be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something less, because passing civilization along from one generation to the next ought to be the highest honor and the highest responsibility anyone could have.”
Leslie is originally from Savannah, Tennessee. She and her husband, David, have two children, both at USJ: daughter, Macy, is in fourth grade, and son, Solomon, is in first grade.
"From the moment my husband and I walked into the building when Macy started in the Cubs class, I knew that I wanted to teach at USJ," she says. "It’s an incredible honor to be invited to be a part of the USJ family. My hope is to add to the excellence we have encountered from the faculty, staff, and families I have come to know over the past few years.
