Linda Yates

Second Grade

An educator for 32 years, Linda Yates has been teaching at USJ for 28 years. She has a bachelor of science in education from the University of Memphis and is a former member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. 

As a second grade teacher, she believes in “individualizing instruction for my students as much as possible. I love to give my students a challenge and watch them ‘rise to the occasion!’” 

Outside of the classroom, she enjoys reading and cooking. Her family includes her husband, Boyce; her son, Brian; and twin granddaughters, who were born July 2009. 

She enjoys working at USJ because the eagerness of the students to learn, the supportive parents, and her colleagues.
