The Gift Process

• Choose to Support USJ in your charitable contributions. We hope that at some point in your relationship with USJ that you decide to include the school in your charitable donations.

• Choose a fund. Many giving opportunities exist at USJ. We do our best to match the donor’s interests with the school’s needs.

• Choose the amount of the gift. Depending on the ability of the donor and the nature of each fund, the amount of a gift to USJ can vary greatly. Past gifts have ranged from $5 to $200,000. No gift is too large; no gift is too small. Usually donors are asked to give what they are comfortable giving, but in times of greater need, families are asked to do all they can.

• Decide how to finance your gift. Charitable donations can be made in many ways, and most of those ways are associated with income and estate tax breaks. Gifts to USJ can be made in cash, stock, real estate, life insurance, life income trusts and bequests. USJ has staff and materials available to help explain the benefits of these gifts, but you also may want to contact your tax advisor.
