An Education for a Lifetime

University School of Jackson, in Jackson, Tennessee, offers a college-preparatory curriculum in a challenging, nurturing, and safe environment. We educate students from PreKindergarten through the 12th Grade.

A Nurturing Environment for Learning

From the child-centered environment in the Lower School to the college advanced placement courses in Upper School, USJ offers your child an education that will prepare him for college…and success in life. USJ gives each child the resources he needs to succeed and to develop his full potential.

USJ teachers and staff work in partnership with you and your child in providing an education that goes beyond a strong curriculum. We share your values as parents as we emphasize character education and helping your child make the right choices. Grounded in Judeo-Christian values, USJ provides an environment that stresses a respect of one another and of all religions.

A College Preparatory Curriculum

At USJ, we provide meaningful, age-appropriate, and challenging opportunities for your child to learn. We also integrate the use of technology in our classrooms at all grade levels.

The Lower School’s curriculum is sequential. It focuses on the needs of the individual child as each lesson builds on what that child already knows.

In our Middle School, the curriculum becomes more content driven as we provide a transition to Upper School. Teachers use a variety of teaching methods – from hands-on science labs and lectures to cross curriculum activities – to address the various learning styles of our students.

The Upper School offers honors, Advanced Placement, and regular college preparatory classes to meet the learning needs of all students. All of our graduates meet college entrance requirements.

A Standard of Excellence

Is your child a soccer player? A trumpet player? Or a chess player? Do his talents shine on the stage? Or in a leadership role? The breadth of activities at USJ provides opportunities for every child’s interests outside of the classroom. Our successful athletics program, for example, offers 29 teams in 11 sports at the Middle and Upper School level.

At USJ, we educate the whole child in a standard of excellence that becomes the culture for all that we do. In fact, USJ students routinely win the top awards in everything from vocal performances to math competitions. At the same time, we are proud of smaller accomplishments. We believe a good educational environment provides success for all students – and not just the brightest students.

A quality education is a wonderful gift to give your child. We invite you to see the difference at USJ.
