Cheerleaders take top honors

The varsity cheerleading squad won top honors from the camp the girls attended at the University of Alabama. From the more than 700 cheerleaders who attended the camp, USJ’s varsity squad earned first-place camp champions in cheer, as well as second place in extreme dance routine.
Two squad members, junior Courtney Byrd and senior Kathryn Anthony, also were selected as All-Star Cheerleaders and were invited to participate in the New Year’s Day London Parade. Of all of the camp participants, only 15 high school cheerleaders were chosen for this honor.
