Since 1987, USJ football teams have won 14 District/Region titles, and participated in 58 state playoff games. This includes 4 State Finals, 8 Semi-Finals, and 12 Quarter-Finals.
The 1989 team won the first playoff game in school history. The 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002, and 2004 teams finished with undefeated regular seasons. The 1993, 1998, 2000, and 2009 teams advanced to the State Championship Games.
USJ has been represented by 57 All-State players.
The Bruins have had six Class "A" Mr. Football finalists, one Class "AA" Mr. Football finalist, two Class "A" Mr. Football winners, two Division II Class A winners, and three Division II Class A finalists. Jake Overbey was a three-time Mr. Football candidate and a two-time Mr. Football winner (2009, 2010)
Former Bruin Star Trey Teague earned All-Southeastern Conference Honors at the University of Tennessee. Trey helped guide UT to the Southeastern Conference Championship in 1997 and was later drafted by the World Champion Denver Broncos.
