PAL Basketball League

The Pal League is an organization that was formed about 25 years ago to give children in kindergarten through sixth grade an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of basketball. A strong emphasis is put on instruction of skills and good sportsmanship while our number one goal is to have fun.

Registration deadline for the 2009-2010 PAL basketball season is Monday, November 9.

PAL Basketball Season

PAL Basketball Season...... begins in January and ends in February. All games will be played on Saturdays. Teams will be formed by Thanksgivng and will have a minimum of one practice per week for one hour. Practices will begin after Thanksgiving break and will be at USJ's lower school gyms. Please note that some coaches will choose to have addtional practice sessions.

Teams are grouped by grade as follows:
K coed (4 on 4; 8 ft goals): Requires a junior-size ball
• Grades 1-2 Girls (8 ft goals): Requires a 28.5 girls-size ball
• Grades 1-2 Boys (8 ft goals): Requires a 28.5 girls-size ball
• Grades 3-4 Girls (full court 9 ft goals): Requires a 28.5 girls-size ball
• Grades 3-4 Boys (full court 9 ft goals): Requires a 28.5 girls-size ball
• Grades 5-6 Girls: Requires a 28.5 girls-size ball
• Grades 5-6 Boys: Requires a regular-size ball

Kindergarten to 2nd grade: teams are appointed
Third to Sixth grade: teams are formed by draft

Signup fee is $35 PER PLAYER and can be turned in with the registration form to your child’s teacher or campus secretary by Monday, November 9.

Checks are to be made out to USJ PAL LEAGUE.

Parental Authorization:	I, PARENT/GUARDIAN OF THE ABOVE-NAMED PARTICIPANT IN THE PAL LEAGUE, HEREBY GIVE APPROVAL TO HIS/HER PARTICIPATION IN ANY ACTIVITIES DURING THE CURRENT SEASON. I ASSUME ALL RISKS AND HAZARDS INCIDENTAL TO SUCH PARTICIPATION INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE ACTIVITIES AND DO HEREBY WAIVE, RELEASE, ABSOLVE, INDEMNIFY AND AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS, USJ AND ALL OTHER SCHOOLS THAT ARE MEMBERS OF THE PAL LEAGUE AS WELL AS SUPERVISORS AND PARTICIPANTS FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF AN INJURY TO THE BOY/GIRL. I ALSO GRANT PERMISSION TO MANAGING PERSONNEL TO AUTHORIZE AND OBTAIN MEDICAL CARE FROM ANY LICENSED PHYSICIAN, HOSPITAL OR MEDICAL CLINIC SHOULD THE BOY/GIRL BECOME ILL OR INJURED WHILE PARTICIPATING WHEN NEITHER PARENT IS AVAILABLE TO GRANT AUTHORIZATION FOR EMERGENCY TREATMENT.
