Spring 2010
Senior Madison Patey and eighth grader, Harrison Norton, were named to the Jackson Sun's Honorable Mention All-West Tennessee Tennis team. Madison won district and regional titles in Division II Class A tennis, while Harrison won a district championship and advanced to the Division II Class A state tournament.

2009
USJ's Norton and Patey Named Player of the Year by the Jackson Sun
Juniors Colton Norton and Madison Patey were named The Jackson Sun's Male and Female Tennis Players of the Year. It was Patey's second consecutive year to receive the honor. Patey helped lead USJ to its first girls team title in 11 years in Class A-AA. Patey has also played for the individual state championship for the last three years, finishing as state-runner-up each time. Norton captured the Class A-AA state singles title in addition to being a member of the team state champions. Norton is the first USJ player to win an individual title since 2000.
Named to the All-West Tennessee tennis team were Hunt Magee, Allisson Mansur, Rebecca Johnston, Morgan Hancock and Madelne Crocker.
The varsity boys and girls teams brought home a perfect pair....the Class A-AA Tennis State Championships. This was the Lady Bruins first title win in 11 years, while for the boys team it was its third title in four years. The girls team captured the title by beating Christian Acadmeny of Knoxville 4-3. The boys won the state title by shutting out Knoxville Catholic 4-0.
In singles play, Colton Norton became the second USJ male to win the TSSAA Class A-AA state championship. While Madison Patey finished as the girls state runner-up. In doubles play, Hunt Magee and Allison Mansur were the boys doubles state runners-up.
The boys and girls teams swept Madison 5-0 and 4-0, respectively, to advancing to the state team semifinals in Murfreesboro as part of Spring Fling.
The boys and girls teams both had players advance to Regional Singles and Doubles play. Players were Madison Patey, Rebecca Johnston, Morgan Hancock, Hillary Ross, Madeline Crocker, Emily Mullins, Colton Norton, JR Markos, Allisson Mansur, Hunt Magee, Stuart Howell, and Jordan Perchik.
2008
The boys tennis team closed out the season as runner-ups in the state A-AA tournament. Team members were Grant Hunderup, Jordan Perchik, Hunt Magee, Stewart Howell, Colton Norton, and Ben Gaines. Ben Gaines placed second in the state for the singles tournament, while doubles partners Colton Norton and Hunt Magee were state semi-finalists.
The girls team also made the state tournament, finishing as semi-finalists after a loss in the first round of tournament play. Team members are Madison Patey, Rebecca Johnston, Morgan Hancock, Madeline Crocker, Emily Mullins, and Hillary Ross. Madison Patey was the A-AA state runner-up. In doubles, Rebecca Johnston and Madeline Crocker were state quarter finalists.
Both the girls and boys teams won the District 13 championship, the Region 7 championship and the sectional championship to advance to the state tournament.
2007
For the second year in a row, the boys tennis team won the state championship by defeating Chattanooga Christian School. Team members are Grant Hunderup, Jordan Perchik, Hunt Magee, Frank Crocker, Colton Norton, and Ben Gaines. James Walker is the coach; Bob Wood is the assistant coach.
Madison Patey was state runner-up in girls singles.
The girls tennis team, which also went to state, made it to the quarterfinals. Team members are Madison Patey, Aya Kato, Rebecca Johnston, Kelly Nelson, Morgan Hancock, and Madeline Crocker.
The girls doubles team of Kelly Nelson and Aya Kato and the boys doubles team of Hunt Magee and Colton Norton also played in the state tournament.
Both the boys and the girls tennis teams were district, regional, and sectional champions. Madison Patey won the region in singles and Aya Kato and Kelly Nelson won the region in doubles. In boys tennis, Colton Norton and Hunt Magee won the region in boys doubles.
2006
The boys’ and girls’ tennis teams both won the District 13 A-AA team championships for 2006. The girls won for the fourth year in a row and the boys for the first time since 2000. Congratulations to Madison Patey, Will Magee, Aya Kato, and Neena Malik for winning District 13A-AA Tennis championships. Hunt Magee, Lucas Guerra and Colton Parker were runners-up.
Winning Region Championships were Will Magee, Lucas Guerra, Colton Norton, Madison Patey, Neena Malik, and Aya Kato.
At the state tournament, the Bruins were finalists in four of the six Class A-AA competition. The boys team won the state title, while Will Magee was second in boys singles. Aya Kato and Neena Malik won the girls doubles championship. Lucas Guerra and Colton Norton were the state doubles champions. According to The Jackson Sun, which cited TSSAA records, only singles champion Lee Taylor Walker in 2000 ever finished the state tennis tournament with two championships for USJ.
All-State players are those who compete in the state finals. Congratulations to Neena Malik, Aya Kato, Lucas Guerra, Colton Norton, and Will Magee for receiving this honor.
The Jackson Sun named Lucas Guerra and Colton Norton Players of the Year for Boys' Tennis and Aya Kato and Neena Malik Players of the Year for Girls' Tennis. Honorable Mention went to Ben Gaines, Hunt Magee, Will Magee, and Madison Patey.
