2011 Schedule
Spring 2010
Austin Martindale ended his high school athletic career with a state title in the 400 meter track event. Austin, who had finished third the last two years, won the Division II 400 meter in 49.74.
Austin and Audrey Hazelhurst were named to the All-West Tennessee Track and Field first team.
Spring 2009
At the State Tournament, USJ's girls' track team finished 9th overall. The 4x800 meter relay team of Audrey Hazelhurst, left to right at right, Shelby Jordan, Honey Heydari and Sara Muir captured the State Championship title with a time of 9:48. Shelby Jordan was the state runner-up in the 2-mile run and Austin Martindale brought home third place in the 400-meter run.
USJ finished the regular track season with 10 varsity track runners advancing to sectionals. Players advancing were Shelby Jordan, Audrey Hazelhurst, Honey Heydari, Sara Muir, Kathryn McAlexander, Austin Martindale, Miller Martindale, Eric Dietz, Davis Exum, and Eric Villarreal.
At the rural West Tennessee Class A-AA track subsectional, Audrey Hazelhurst won the 800-meter and the 1,600-meter runs. Shelby Jordan won the 3,200-meter, and USJ was the winning 3,200-meter girls relay team. The boys won the 1,600-meter relay. USJ won second place at the subsectional.
Spring 2008
USJ finished the track season with nine team members qualifying to compete at the state tournament: Shelby Jordan, Audrey Hazelhurst, Ann Marie Graham, Sara Muir, Honeye Heydari, Kathryn McAlexander, Rachel McLemore, Katie Hayes, and Austin Martindale.
Spring 2007
At the sectional, Ryan Passey placed second in the high jump (9 feet, 6 inches) and USJ's girls placed second in the 4x800 meter relay (10 minutes, 37.23 seconds). Team members are Katie Hayes, Katie Graham, Laura Burton and Sara Muir. This qualified all five student/athletes to compete in the state track meet.
Spring 2006
At the state tournament, sophomore Katie Hayes became USJ's first individual state track champion by winning the 1,600-meter final. Her winning gold comes after enduring a horrific bus crash back in October. Hayes also was third in the 3,200-meter run. The girls 4x800 relay team of Addie Stone, Katie Hayes, Julia Suddath, and Allison East came in third place in the state. The Jackson Sun named Katie Hayes Player of the Year in Track and Field.

At the Region track meet...
• Katie Hayes placed second in the 800, first in the 1600, and first in the 3200.
• The girls relay teams placed fourth in the 800 relay, third in the 1600 relay, and first in the 3200 relay.

1996 State Champions in the 3200 Relay. (This was the first state championship in any sport won by USJ, says parent Russ Truell. The four legs of the event were run by Anna Strachan (anchor leg in 2:13), Frances Kirkland, Allison Truell, and Sarah Stone (each ran slightly under 2:30). Says Russ, "in 1996, this was the second fastest team time recorded in A/AA.)
