Parent Involvement

USJ parents play a key role in the success of USJ. From volunteering to prepare the football field before a game, above, to serving on the Board of Trustees to working at the annual Holiday Mart, parents are involved in the school at all levels.

Board of Trustees

Members of the Board of Trustees meet each month.

Academic Support Group

The Academic Support Group, open to any parent, was created to enhance and support the academic program at all campuses. Its major fund-raiser is the annual Academic Auction.

Bruins Club

The Bruins Club supports the total athletic program at USJ by providing funds for many extras that our athletes need. Besides revenue from its annual Super Booster membership drive, the Bruins Club earns a significant portion of its income from operation of concession stands at USJ home athletic events. In recent years, projects funded by the Bruins Club included irrigation systems for athletic fields and a new spring sports concession stand with restrooms.

The Guild provides support for numerous plays, musicals and art festivals, as well as providing summer scholarship opportunities for deserving students and continuing education for faculty. The Guild also buys additional music and art equipment and supplies.

Mothers' Club

The USJ Mothers’ Club, which supports the school in many ways, has two major fund-raisers a year: the Holiday Gift and Antique Mart, which is always the weekend before Thanksgiving, and the Wee Exchange clothing consignment sales each spring and fall. Besides raising money for many school needs, the Mothers' Club supports the teachers through projects and a network of room mothers.

Moms in Touch

Moms In Touch International is two or more moms who meet for one hour each week to pray for their children, their schools, their teachers, and administrators. Mothers, grandmothers, or anyone who is willing to pray for a specific child and school are invited.

Moms in Touch at USJ meet every Wednesday from 8-9 a.m. If the weather is nice, they meet at the Prayer Garden behind the USJ high school gymnasium.  Otherwise, they meet in the football field house, which is to the right of the football stadium. For more information, call Kim Price (424-5986), Lisa Spurlin (512-1925) or Emily Dunn (660-8117).
