Academic Support Group

It's Academic!

• Mission: The mission of the Academic Support Group (ASG) is to help make the University School of Jackson the most highly sought college preparatory setting wherein students attain their highest achievement academically.

Through volunteer commitments of time, expertise, talent, and fundraising, the ASG endeavors to accomplish its mission by working with parents, teachers, and staff to fulfill strategic goals identified every year.

• Fundraising: The ASG's biggest fundraiser is an Auction Gala held in the spring. In 2010 we raised almost $50,000 that went directly to support students and teachers at every campus. Some of the items and programs funded were the Summer Library Program at the Lower School, more than $30,000 in new textbooks, Photoshop software and iMac computers, Naviance College Planner software, and 16 new laptops.

• Volunteers: ASG has many volunteer opportunities for a variety of skills and time commitments. Some of the areas include event planning, auction item procurement, campus liaison, and computer and IT. ASG offers virtual positions suited to working parents in database and website management, and design.

• Contact: For information about ASG, open volunteer positions or other ways you can help, email ASG President Ginka Poole or call her at 731-313-3719.

Kroger cards

The Kroger company will give USJ $5 for every $100 we spend using a Kroger gift card issued through USJ. This is perhaps the easiest way to raise money for the school.

Kroger Cards an easy $1,400 a month!
We are receiving an estimated amount of $1,400 per month for just reloading, and using your USJ Kroger cards. Just ask your Kroger cashier to reload your card before you start checking out; it is that simple!

Remember, you can use the card to buy gas. Cards are available at the front counter of both the Lower School and the Upper/Middle School. They are $5 each and come loaded with $5 that you can spend. For more information, contact Angela Spencer, 731.426.2522, naphtspencer@yahoo.com.
