Academic Support Group Steering Committee

The ASG Support Group is governed by a Steering Committee that functions to identify the academic related needs at USJ and to set goals to meet those needs. We meet at least quarterly (more often during fundraising and planning times).

The Steering Committee consists of officers, the administrative head of curriculum, the directors of each division of the school, Board of Trustee members with Academic responsibilities, a representative of the Mother's Club, and a parental representative(s) from each division.

ASG members work on "special teams" or subcommittees to ensure representation across all school areas and interest. In addition, we have Trustee Alliances with the USJ Board of Directors and other parent volunteer organizations.

The ASG works in "teams" or committees. There are 4 divisions (Cubs-1st, 2nd-5th, Middle School, and Upper School) represented by the ASG.

Publicity
The ASG Publicity Team works to promote the activities and events that we support at USJ. Examples include, the Annual Academic Auction, Kroger Gift Cards, and ASG Library Night. The website is an extension of the Publicity Team as well as marketing ads, walk home inserts, and other print media. If you have an promotional or marketing idea for the ASG, please email Ginka Poole

Want to help?

Are you an enthusiastic parent, grandparent, family friend or relative who believes in the academic excellence of USJ? If so, there are many ASG areas that you can help support.
• Donate an item/party/vacation trip to the Academic Auction on March 27. For more information contact Auction chairman Sandra Burtt
Purchase a $5 Kroger Card at the front counter of either the Lower and Upper/Middle School and go Krogering for USJ! Contact Angela Spencer for details.

• Get involved! We're always looking for parent volunteers to help with the Academic Support Group's goal of identifying academic related needs and planning a way to meet those needs. Contact Ginka Poole to volunteer with the ASG.
