Dear Merchants and Antique Dealers,
Welcome to one of the most successful Marts in which you can participate!
The University School of Jackson Mothers’ Club is excited to extend an invitation to attend our 2008 Holiday Mart! Our show will provide the opportunity to have your merchandise purchased by over 10,000 shoppers. This will happen the weekend before the traditional “biggest shopping day of the year” . . . enabling shoppers to see your merchandise first - great exposure!
The Holiday Mart is a three-day Merchant’s market featuring, gifts, antiques, accessories and decorative items for the holidays and throughout the year. This event serves as the major fund-raising effort by the Mothers’ Club for U.S.J. The 2008 Mart will open with a Preview Party the evening of November 20, 2008. Mart days will be November 21, 22, and 23, 2008.
The 2008 Mart Chairmen are Tiffany Howard, Celia Jordan and Carolyn Vaughan.

We had much positive feedback regarding the changes we made to our 2007 Mart and are once again planning special events, decorations, and music to enhance the holiday spirit and increase attendance. In addition, we are considering enhanced methods of ticket distribution and regional marketing. Booth space opportunities are outlined in the following pages and will be assigned, as always, on a first come, first served basis as determined by dates of deposit and balance receipt.

*** One of Jackson’s most commonly mentioned assets is its central location between Memphis on the west and Nashville on the east. It is within a day’s drive of 76% of America’s major markets.
With its ability to serve as a hub for thirteen counties, Jackson is considered among the top 100 retail markets in the country. The main force driving this success can be found in the enormous base of customers in these counties that comprise Jackson’s primary trade area. This primary trade boasts a population of nearly 600,000 and a retail sales base of $1.9 billion!
Within the state of Tennessee, Jackson ranks 1st in metropolitan areas for population growth and 2nd in restaurant growth and sales.
Jackson’s Carl Perkins Civic Center is the home for the state’s preliminary pageant for the Miss America pageant. This makes it a familiar landmark for much of West Tennessee.
We think you will enjoy the success and hospitality that awaits you at this year’s Mart. With the anticipation of filling all of our available space, we encourage you to respond as promptly as possible. Meeting deadlines allows for adequate planning and advertising needed to make your experience a most rewarding and profitable one. We are committed to making this Holiday Mart the most successful one yet, for all concerned!
Respectfully,
2008 Holiday Mart Committee
