Student Life
Are you a soccer player? A trumpet player? Or a chess player? Do your talents shine on the stage? Or in a leadership role?
The breadth of activities at USJ provides opportunities for every child’s interests outside of the classroom. Our successful athletics program, for example, offers 29 teams in 11 sports at the Middle and Upper School level. Our fine arts program offers everything from Lower School musical productions to band to several Upper School choruses.
U niforms
USJ students at all grade levels are wearing uniforms for the first time this school year. To be in dress code, uniforms must be purchased through Parker School Uniforms, which serves about 800 schools.

Cafeteria Debit Card
Lunch and Breakfast
Both the Lower School and the Upper/Middle School cafeterias serve a variety of hot and cold items for lunch and breakfast. All students must make their cafeteria purchases with a scannable lunch card, which will debit money from the card as the student buys food. To put money on your child’s card, send a check to his or her first-period teacher, made out to USJ Cafeteria. Middle and Upper School students can give their checks to Tammy Smith.
The first time you put money on your child's card, we suggest you fill out the cafeteria debit card form. This form also gives you the opportunity to set spending limits and to tell the cafeteria about any allergies. To download a copy of the form in pdf format, click here....

Parents Night Out

The Freshman Class, with help from parents, is offering a night out for parents of USJ Lower School PreK4 through fifth grade students. There will be cheese pizza at 6:30 p.m., gym time, games, a movie, and more. The night out is a class fund-raiser.
Cost: $10 per child
Children must be pre-registered before March 24 so that we will have the appropriate number of chaperones.
Information on Eating Disorders
At some time during their youth, about half of high school- and college-age girls and 10 percent of boys will have an eating-related problem. It's a problem that concerns USJ's guidance department. For more information on the subject, click here...

USJ History Blankets
The Senior Class (2008) is accepting orders for USJ blankets that depict the school’s history. The center, designed by Upper School art teacher Libby Lynch, pays tribute to all of the periods of our school’s history, including the newest part the Prayer Garden.
“The blanket is a wonderful way to remember our school and would make a perfect gift for graduates, alumni, and other members of the USJ family,” says Christian Haynes, who is helping to coordinate the project for her daughter’s class.
The blankets are 100 percent cotton, machine washable, 58 by 61 inches, and full color tapestry. Price is $65. Make checks payable to USJ Class of 2008. Send them to Mary Haynes (with your child’s name in the bottom left hand corner), 51 Huntingdon Place, Jackson, TN 38305. A special thanks goes to Libby Lynch.
