Headnotes: Resolved

“These are the times that try men’s souls.” from Thomas Paine’s The Crisis  (Dec 1776)

We have experienced difficult times recently, to say the least. In one recent week, our great state saw six innocent people perish due to the nefarious acts of a truly evil individual, then even more fellow citizens were killed as a result of a series of deadly storms that passed through West Tennessee. Then, just this week, our school family experienced unexpected sickness and the sudden tragic loss of a dear colleague. As many of us have said with exasperation in the past few days, “It’s just too much.”
