Staffing Changes for 2017-18

We are pleased to announce Cathy Garrett’s acceptance of the Director of Alumni Relations position. Cathy already serves as the Assistant Director of Development for the school.

“The fusion of the two positions seemed like a natural progression as we continue to engage our alumni families in the development of USJ,” says Mr. Hirstein. Cathy is the parent of two USJ alums, Anna and Alex. Her husband Charlie is a past chairman of the board of trustees.

Melissa Zerfoss, who previously handled alumni relations, will continue her roles as Assistant to the Head of School and Director of Summer Programs. Dana Simmons, seventh grade English teacher, will add Assistant Director of Summer Programs to her duties. These changes will allow staff to best meet the growing needs of these departments.

We encourage all alumni to make sure we have your most recent mailing and email addresses. We also ask that you share your latest news. Contact Cathy Garrett at to update us.
