The University School of Jackson seeks an inspiring, innovative, and inquiry-driven educator to join our team as a full time Upper School Spanish Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.  This educator will work with a team of top educators to help young men and women reach their full potential as global citizens.   Additionally, this team member will serve as an advisor, and may be asked to contribute to the broader life of the School.

The University School of Jackson seeks an inspiring, innovative, and inquiry-driven educator to join our team as a full-time Middle School History and Geography Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.  This educator will work with a team of top educators to help young men and women reach their full potential.  The teachers should demonstrate a commitment to learning for all students by maintaining an organized classroom, presenting content-rich and standards-based lessons, and using a variety of instructional strategies that are reflective of the USJ mission.  Additionally, this team member should demonstrate strong leadership skills and may be asked to contribute to the broader life of the school through duties, coaching, and/or sponsoring extracurricular programs.

The Director of Security provides the security team's administrative leadership in planning, implementing, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating school safety and security programs for University School of Jackson. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for planning, program evaluation, education of employees, the safety of students, parents, and visitors to campus, and the overall security of USJ. The Director of Security works collaboratively to lead and nurture employees of USJ and to communicate effectively with parents, members of the community, and colleagues in other schools.

The University School of Jackson seeks an innovative, expert band instructor for the 2023-2024 school. The band director will direct the Middle and Upper School Band and 8th-grade Ukulele and may also be asked to teach a general music course. The director will teach and incorporate a variety of string players and merge all levels of experience into various ensembles. The director will also lead an athletic band at all home and playoff football games, prepare and provide a student-based orchestra for two Upper School musicals yearly, and write, direct, and produce the orchestra for Middle School musicals. The Band Director should demonstrate a commitment to learning for all students by maintaining an organized classroom, presenting content-rich and standards-based lessons, and using various instructional strategies that reflect the USJ mission. Additionally, this team member should demonstrate strong leadership skills and may be asked to contribute to the broader life of the school through duties, advisory, and/or sponsoring extracurricular programs.

USJ is the largest independent school in West Tennessee outside of Memphis. We are a non-denominational college preparatory school located on 130 acres in northwest Jackson, TN.

For over 50 years, USJ has focused on preparing our students for college beginning with our youngest Bruins who join us as early as six weeks of age.

Our campus features two academic facilities, one which houses our Lower School (infants through 5th grade) and the other our Middle and Upper Schools.
