Technology

Technology plays an important role in supporting teaching and learning at the University School of Jackson. From the earliest grades through Upper School, students and faculty use technology as a tool to enhance collaboration, creativity, research, and communication.

USJ integrates Google Classroom across all divisions, providing a digital learning environment where students can access assignments, collaborate with classmates, and communicate with teachers. As students progress through each grade level, they develop increasing independence in managing their coursework and digital resources.

In the Lower School, classrooms are equipped with iPads that teachers use to support instruction through research, creative projects, and interactive learning activities. In Jr. Kindergarten and the Cubs program, teachers can bring a mobile iPad cart into the classroom when technology is needed to support lessons.

Beginning in Fourth Grade, students participate in a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) environment. This approach allows students to work more independently, collaborate on projects, and communicate directly with teachers in ways that mirror the technology-rich environments they will experience in college and beyond.

Every classroom at USJ is equipped with interactive projectors and whiteboards, enabling teachers to present dynamic lessons, display digital resources, and engage the entire class in real-time learning experiences.
