The Arts Guild supports all of USJ’s visual and performing arts, which includes Band, Music, Art, Musical Theatre and Drama Classes starting with Early Childhood Education all the way through 12th grade.
A steering committee administers the operational affairs of the Guild and assists the Fine Arts Department, both in financial resources and in volunteer support. Parent volunteers promote all productions, maintain the costume and prop closet, sell tickets, work backstage, chaperone trips and have many other opportunities for hands-on involvement. The funds help pay for theatre productions and other fine arts events. We provide scholarships for summer enrichments and buy supplies and equipment for our Fine Arts teachers and their classrooms.
Our main financial support is through families who become Patron/Corporate Sponsors. Corporate Sponsors get great exposure with ads in the programs, along with a before show advertisement on the in-theater screen. Each of the productions has an average attendance of 1,000 – 1,200 and all productions are advertised in the community at large. All parents, grandparents, and other interested parties are invited and encouraged to join and participate in the Arts Guild. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. in the Middle School conference room. Please check the school calendar for any changes.
