Endowments

Endowment funds are restricted gifts that are annually invested and generate income to support academic programs, facility improvements, and other operating expenses of USJ.

JIM CAMPBELL ENDOWMENT FUND

The Board of Trustees in 1998 established the Jim Campbell Endowment and Scholarship Fund to honor the hard work and dedication to USJ of former board chairman Jim Campbell.

The Board of Trustees allocated $5,000 a year for five years to the fund, which will provide scholarships to students attending USJ who exemplify the work ethic and strong moral fiber of Jim Campbell.

DONALD NEWMAN ENDOWED CHAIR OF MATHEMATICS

Donald Newman's name is synonymous with mathematics at the University School of Jackson, a reputation that is well earned after 32 years of service. To honor Mr. Newman and to thank him for all he has meant to the USJ community, USJ has established the Donald Newman Endowed Chair of Mathematics. This endowment will help ensure USJ's ability to hire and retain outstanding faculty in mathematics like Mr. Newman.

ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Alumni Scholarship Fund provides a college scholarship each year to a deserving graduating senior.  Applications are accepted and reviewed each spring and the recipient is announced during Senior Awards Night.  Applicants do not have to be the child of an alumni to apply.
